When we discovered the fabric for the much loved Saltzman Jersey, we knew it had potential to do much more than just a riding jersey. So relaxed the fit, removed the cycling jersey (but built in a concealed pouch pocket for a roll of bagels or whatever you can fit in there, squared off the bottom hem with some additional length, and used a two-way larger zipper for durability and versatility. The result? Our new go-to adventure shirt for everything from bikepacking to ski touring.

Wool against the skin and polyester on the face, it’s the perfect blend of durability, temperature regulation, and overall comfort with the added benefit of being basically odor-proof for those multi-day adventures. Use it balled up as your camp pillow, unzipped as your sun protection, or layered under a shell for a bit of additional warmth. The more you throw at it, the more you’ll be in love with the FL.5.

A note on the name. Our Saltzman Jersey is named after a little slice of gravel heaven in Portland, OR that ascends through Forest Park. At the top of Saltzman, we often will descend back down through the park on Firelane 5, one of our only bits of shreddy single track in town. Connected to Saltzman in fabric and flow, the FL.5 is the logical extension of our growing fabric family.
